 A Living Invitation
As we cross the threshold from summer into fall, we enter a season of change.
The light begins to shift. The days shorten. The earth begins its movement inward. We are invited to notice what has grown, what we are carrying, what is ready to be released, and what we want to bring with us into the season ahead.
This fall, Chuchuhuasi will be our Master Plant Teacher, and the Four Directions will become our map.
Together, we will enter a six-week practice of relationship, listening, presence, and integration.
We will listen to the plants; we will listen to the body, and we will orient ourselves through the wisdom of the East, South, West, and North.
We will pay attention to what the changing season is revealing within and around us.
At the heart of this work is something I have come to understand more deeply through the years:
Plant medicine is about relationship:
Relationship with the plants, the seasons, the body, those who came before us, one another, and the living world of which we are already a part.
The Spirit of the Work
Master Plants & Presence is rooted in entering into conscious relationship with the plants.
We are not studying Chuchuhuasi as a concept or looking to the plant for answers. Through dieta, presence, ritual, community, and daily practice, we create the conditions to listen and notice differently.
We notice the body. We notice our patterns and responses. We notice what strengthens us and what depletes us. We notice what we are holding and what may be ready to change.
Most importantly, we practice remembering our relationship with life itself.
This is a social dieta, held in community and lived within everyday life. You can continue working, parenting, creating, and relating while honoring the agreements that support your relationship with the plant.
The ceremony unfolds within daily life.
The Arc of the Journey
September 26 - October 31
Week 1 · Preparation & Orientation
We begin by establishing our rhythm, preparing the body and nervous system, setting intention, meeting Chuchuhuasi, and orienting ourselves to the Four Directions and the ceremonial container we will share.
Weeks 2–5 · Four Weeks in Relationship with Chuchuhuasi
We enter the active dieta and daily relationship with Chuchuhuasi.
Across these four weeks, we will move through the Four Directions, allowing each direction to become a lens for our practice:
East · Beginnings & Clarity
South · Embodiment & Vitality
West · Transformation & Medicine
North · Stillness & Wisdom
Each week becomes an opportunity to listen through the plant, the body, the direction we are exploring, and what is actually unfolding in our lives.
Week 6 · Integration & Closing
We close the active dieta and give ourselves time to gather what has been revealed.
Integration is not an afterthought in this work. It is part of the practice.
We will reflect on what we have learned through our relationship with Chuchuhuasi and consider how those teachings continue within our relationships, choices, bodies, and everyday lives.
The Weekly Rhythm
Each week is supported by two live gatherings:
✦ Saturday · 90 minutes 9-10:30am PT
Teaching, Four Directions exploration, embodied practice, group reflection, and integration.
✦ Sunday · 60 minutes 4-5 pm PT
Here we practice inviting presence, listening, meditation, somatic awareness, and connection with the plant.
All live gatherings are recorded for those unable to attend.
The Dieta
This is a community-held, presence-based social dieta designed to be practiced within the rhythms of everyday life.
For four weeks, we intentionally create more space around what we consume and how we live so that we can listen more closely to the plant, the body, and our own experience.
During the active dieta, we share foundational agreements that include abstaining from alcohol and recreational substances and simplifying certain foods and seasonings. We also recognize that each person's body, health, family, and daily life are different. Complete preparation and safety guidance will be provided before we begin.
This is not about perfection. It is about creating enough space to listen.
Why Chuchuhuasi?
Chuchuhuasi invites us into a rooted relationship with life.
Traditionally associated with strength and grounding, Chuchuhuasi offers a powerful plant relationship for the transition into fall.
Its invitation is not necessarily to retreat from change, but to discover what allows us to remain rooted within it.
What strengthens us?
Where do we stand?
What are we orienting toward?
What can we release?|
What do we trust when the landscape around us begins to change?
Over four weeks of dieta, we will have time to move beyond our first impressions of the plant and allow the relationship to unfold slowly.
We are not just drinking Chuchuhuasi.
We are learning how to listen.
Why The Four Directions?
The Four Directions offer us an ancient way of orienting ourselves within the cycles of life.
Every day the sun rises, travels across the sky, sets, and disappears into darkness before beginning again.
Our lives move through cycles too.
We begin, we grow, we change, we release, we rest, we begin again.
During our four weeks of dieta, we will move through one direction each week, allowing the medicine wheel to become a living practice rather than something we merely learn about.
EAST
Beginnings · Vision · Clarity
What is arising? What are we being invited to see?
SOUTH
Embodiment · Vitality · Growth
What is alive within us? What wants to be experienced and lived?
WEST
Transformation · Release · Medicine
What are we being asked to meet, change, grieve, or let go?
NORTH
Stillness · Wisdom · Integration
What remains when we become quiet enough to listen?
Together, Chuchuhuasi and the Four Directions give us a way to explore what it means to remain rooted while life continues to change.

✦ The Space Between Is Part of the Journey
One thing I have learned through years of working with plants and presence is that the immersion itself is only part of the practice.
We need time to integrate. To live. To notice what has changed. To discover how what we have experienced begins to move through our relationships, choices, bodies, and everyday lives.
This is why there is spaciousness between each seasonal journey.
It is also why one full year of Portals to Presence is included in the Full Seasonal Journey.
✦ INCLUDED IN YOUR FULL SEASONAL JOURNEY ✦
One Full Year of Portals to Presence
Two live gatherings each month · Community · Growing Living Library
Portals becomes our ongoing place of practice between the plants, with two live gatherings each month, community support, and a growing Living Library of more than 300 practices, teachings, and conversations in presence, breath, nervous system awareness, emotional embodiment, and somatic listening.
So when one Master Plants & Presence immersion ends, the practice does not end with it. We have a place to continue listening, integrating, and practicing together as we move through the months between each plant relationship.
Master Plants & Presence gives us a place to go deeper.
Portals gives us a place to continue.
Your Full Seasonal Journey includes one full year of Portals to Presence.
